The Garden of Earthly Delights ( excerpt from funding application )
will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Mt Tomah Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens.
The project uniquely blends nature and culture – for one weekend BMBG will become a spectacular outdoor stage for new work by visual and performing artists from the Greater Blue Mountains creative community. It will engage approximately 50 visual and performing artists a day to create new work and showcase their talent during a weekend of artistic flamboyance.
Over the weekend of 11th-12th of November there will be an Aboriginal Welcome Ceremony, music ensembles and songsters, poets and performance artists throughout the Gardens, environmental installations, an art exhibition and gourmet local slow food.
The Garden of Earthly Delights will bring multiple benefits to the local community – as well as showcasing the exceptional range of talented and professional artists and performers found in the Greater Blue Mountains (Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury & Lithgow) region. It ensures significant visitation from outside the region, engaging and attracting a wide, cultural and environmentally conscious demographic.
